If you can retry freely, you will never develop these skills. You analyze situation, predict possible events and formulate strategy better. Now I check all lanes are secure, heroes in position, well equipped, which stele still in effect, expand resource production, think more clearly on which door to open. Not allow retry actually sharpen your decision making a lot. I do a save backup at very start of a level (not in between). So if game/windows clashed at level12, I lose good 3-4 hours of play. On average, it takes me 10-20 min to clear a level.
If the developers read this, there is a high chance they will patch it in future version.
